Segovia

Segovia is a wonderful city dominated by an incredible Roman aqueduct that was designed to bring water into the walled inner city.

In addition there is both a beautiful castle and a large cathedral (as well as many other smaller ancient buildings and monuments). The castle was said to have inspired Walt Disney’s Sleeping Beauty castle. There are numerous narrow streets and a long pedestrian-only street through the ancient city.

Outside the ancient city, there are more modern shopping precincts and elegant boulevards. In summary, Segovia is a wonderful place. We even had a good 3 course meal (including drink) for €10 each.

  1. All I can say is WOW wish I was there. Looks absolutely amazing – even the trees look ancient and as if they have some mystical air surrounding them as in the Walt Disney movies. Did you see Rapunzel? or any of the black cloaked persons using twiggy brooms per chance? Were they calling to you? Sorry but my broom was being used already so couldn’t make it. Next time.
