Bike Preparations

Poppy and I will be riding on our trusty tandem, which Gill and I had for our wedding 13 years ago. However, I have recently had some alterations done to the bike to make travel a bit easier – the fitting of S&S couplings. This will enable us to split the bike frame in 2, making it about the same size as a normal bike for plane and train travel.

Whilst I was having extra framework done, I also decided to fit a additional rear disc brake for a little added braking power and security – particularly to cope with the BOB trailer which will be holding all our camping gear. The frame modifications were performed by Greenspeed. They were extremely helpful sorting out the particulars. Here is a picture of the frame with the couplings in place:
